There would be sufficient supply of pork in Bataan this coming Holiday season, according to Dr. Alberto Venturina, provincial chief of veterinary office.
Venturina assured residents that pork which price ranges between P380 and P400 per kilo are available in the province’s public markets. He said his office recently dispersed 405 piglets as sentinel animals “and for slaughter during the holidays.”
On the controversial African swine fever, Venturina explained, “Meron po pero isolated ang nagkakasakit at mostly native pigs tinatamaan kaya possible swill feeding ang source of infection.”
The Department of Agriculture regional office has announced that the Bureau of Animal industry will inspect hog farms to assess its biodiversity measures regarding the vaccination drive to ward off ASF cases.
